Basic fact Boxes

 I did Basic fact Boxes and I got 99% of right answers. 

It took me 4 minutes and 37 seconds I beat my old timer and my old timer was 5 minutes and 10 seconds.

These help us because we can remember the answers and then it can probaly take you under a minute and then you will get good and good at it.

SSR selfie

 I read half a book called Sisters by Raina Telgemeier.

The story tells us about how there was a little girl and she wanted a baby sister so bad thet when ever she seen her parents she would always use the word sister in her sentence.

In that story I learnt that you should always be grateful for what you asked for. 

Making connections

Making connection is conection to yourself, to the world and text to text.

Text to self is when you do something the same as in the story. For a exampe: The duck stole the highway rats food when the highway rat went into the cave. The duck was riding the horse down the mountain. The duck took the food because it was the villagers and because it was a good thing to do. My connection: I stole my brothers food because my little sister was to scared to go and ask. These connect because both characters have somthing to a scared group od people.

Text to Text is when you compare the simularities to another story. 
Example: The duck stopped to the highway rat and the highway rat said "I see you have no food then I gues I will have to eat you" The duck needed to think about the threat the highway rat gave her. My connection: In little red riding hood the wolf dresses up as the grandma to trick little red riding hood  so the wolf can eat her.These connect because they both have been tricked.

Text to world is when you tell when you see someone do something nice to the world or somene. 
Example: When the duck and the highway rat was going up to the cave the horse was tired so the duck gave the horse some water. The duck took the horse becaus eshe can see that the highway rat was not treating the horse right.

My connection: When there was a poor manin the streets when I swas walking there was a woman who gave the homeless man some money because someone maybe kicked him out of a house or something.
These connect because the woman was taking care of the man like the duck did to the horse.

Making connections are an important way to understand the meaning or a similarity. Connecting texts to other stuff or people can help you understand similairities and meanings.

Team work

 Teamwork is a term to describe a group of people working together to achieve a goal.

Teamwork consists of three main mechanisms. 

Communication is teammates talking to each other.

Cooperation is being a successful team by working together all the time.

collaboration is working together as a group to acheive one goal.

To be successful as a team all three mechanisms need to implemented throughout the activity.

Mark Duffy is a Duffy role model who shares his stories and his rough past life times and how he turned his life around. 

Mark changed his life by learning how to read because he was a bad reader. He worked in Bunnings fitting out their store and now he manages one of the largest Bunnings in Hamilton. 

Mark tells his storys to lots of diffrent schools so that we never give up on reading.

Mark learnt how to read when he was in prison. He learnt how to read with a teacher  there.

Multiplication

 Multiplication is a fast way to add the same number many times.  The three, four and six times tables are examples of multiplication.

The three times tables are multiplying three by a number of group.

The four times tables are multiplying four by a number of group.

The six times tables are multipling six by a number of grup.

The times tables are an easy way to remember basic multiplication eaquations. The next times tables to learn are the seven eight and ten times tables

PE with LS1

 LS1 has been learning about teamwork.

The first game we played was called Blind fold cone challenge.

In the game we had to find a partner and one partner is blind folded and the person with no blind fold on has to tell the other partner what way to go so that we can put the con down on the right place.

The second game we played was  Blind fold dodge ball with bean bags. we had to find bean bags blind folded then try and throw them at people.

Finally we played Hunger games dodge ball in that game we had to make sure that we dont get hit by a soft ball.

Team work is communication. communication is talking to people so that they know where there going and stuff like that.

Team work is also collaboration. collaboration is making sure that your teammates hear you and they can see you and make sure that you can catch a ball or any thing.

cooperation is making sure that when you play you talk because if we were playing a game and no one was talking we would not know who to pass to.

The highway rat

A character Trait is when you talk about a charecter in a story or something and what words desribe them.

A character Trait is  when you also describe what kind of actions they did and when they do something nice or mean.

In the story the Highway Rat there are 3 characters that can be inferred bout.

The duck is a kind person becasue she cares about other people and not just her self because when she was riding on the horse she could see that the horse was tired and the duck gave the horse some water.

The duck is clever becasue when the duck was looking for the highway rat so she can trick him to thinking that she has a sister in a cave and she has choclet, cupcakes and treats. 

When the highway rat took his sword out the the duck was kind of not scared to talk.

Character traits are helpful because they help you understand more about the character that is said in the story.

Compare and Contrast

Daeyna and I did a activity about the Haka and the Siva Samoa dance.

We had to look at a dance and look at what they are wearing.Then we had to find the differences and the similarities.

We had to at least have five similarities but I had five similarities and  8 differences for the Haka and 7 differences for the Siva Samoa.

I like doing this because I get to learn about different countries, cultures and their dances.  

   

SSR selfie

 Today after I did some work I did a SSR selfie slide.

I read a book called sisters for 15 minutes and I had to take a photo of the book and put in who the main characters are. On my book the main characters are Amara and Raina.

They are sisters and they mouth fight a lot.

 They went on a trip with there mum and not there dad because their dad is at work for a week and when the dad finishes work he has to drive his car instead so that he can be with his family.

I like doing SSR selfie is because  I read books and learn knew words when im reading my book.

The highway rat fact or opinion

LS1 did a activity about the highway rat it was fact or opinion.

First we listened to the story The Highway Rat. It is about a greedy Rat. We had to write facts from the story and then what out opinion was as to why the character did that.

After we did the fact or opinion we had to put five words describing about the character trait.

I like doing this is because its fun and it helps me learn how to make pictures in my head just by listening to a sentence.

Multiplication

Me and my group did a activity about Multiplication

First we had to put our beans into groups and we had 9 groups of 3.

We had to count how many groups we had.

Then we had to write what we did and how we did it into a text box.

I like doing Multiplication because it helps me counting groups of numbers faster than adding them.
